Marine Engineer, Neutron Recovery
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Marine Engineer to join the Neutron Recovery team at our Space Structures complex in Middle River, MD. This role focuses on designing and developing recovery assets essential for the Neutron Recovery program, contributing to the advancement of our medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle, Neutron.
The Senior Marine Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers to develop the Neutron Recovery program, taking ownership of critical recovery subsystem designs and analyses. Responsibilities include serving as a technical expert for marine system designs, developing technical details for recovery designs, and supporting recovery system fabrication and testing both remotely and onsite at facilities such as Wallops Island.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical, naval, marine, electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering, along with at least 5 years of experience related to aerospace vehicles, payloads, or marine assemblies. Preferred qualifications include experience working with engineering teams on challenging projects with tight timelines and budgets, designing and building complex, multi-disciplinary systems, and the ability to work autonomously in high-stress environments.
Rocket Lab offers a competitive base salary ranging from $119,000 to $136,000, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
