Market Development Representative (Early Career, Inside Sales)
The Market Development Representative (MDR) at PitchBook Data serves as the initial point of contact for new business opportunities, playing a pivotal role in the company's growth by engaging and converting inbound leads into sales prospects. This position is integral to the Sales Team, which focuses on acquiring new enterprise clients and driving the full sales cycle to contract execution. Key responsibilities of the MDR include achieving defined goals and key performance indicators, booking qualified product demonstrations for the sales team, and connecting with leads through both written and verbal communication. The role requires utilizing various tools to manage the lead pipeline and maintain accurate records, acting as a consultant to understand prospects' needs and business priorities, and conducting thorough discovery both before and during calls. Additionally, the MDR is expected to complete assigned training, support the company's vision and values through role modeling, and participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
Candidates for this role should possess a bachelor's degree, with prior sales internship experience preferred but not mandatory. Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LeanData/BookIt is advantageous but not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate fearless curiosity, a strong sense of urgency to deliver results, and the ability to maintain prioritization and organization based on team strategy and goals. Strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite are essential. An interest in the capital markets and authorization to work in the United Kingdom without the need for visa sponsorship are also required.
The compensation package for this position includes a base salary of £45,000, with an annual on-target variable commission of $27,500 for fully ramped representatives meeting expectations.
