The Market Development Representative at PitchBook Data serves as the initial point of contact for new business opportunities within the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Sales Team. Key responsibilities include achieving defined goals and key performance indicators, booking qualified product demonstrations for the sales team, and connecting with leads through both written and verbal communication. The representative is expected to utilize the company's tool stack to manage the lead pipeline effectively and maintain accurate records. Acting as a consultant, the role requires understanding prospects' needs and business priorities to address them appropriately. Conducting thorough discovery both before and during calls, completing assigned training, and participating in various company initiatives are also essential duties.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, with prior sales internship experience preferred but not mandatory. Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LeanData/BookIt is advantageous but not required. The role demands fearless curiosity, a strong sense of urgency to deliver results, and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks based on team strategy and goals. Strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite are essential. An interest in the capital markets and authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship are also required.

The compensation package includes a base salary of $65,000, with an annual on-target variable commission of $27,500 for fully ramped representatives meeting expectations.
