Marketing & Communications Manager
Rocket Lab is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to join its Space Systems division at the global headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This role is pivotal in translating complex spacecraft technologies into clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences, including investors, customers, government stakeholders, and internal teams. The position offers an opportunity to shape the messaging and positioning of Rocket Lab's rapidly expanding space systems business, highlighting the company's capabilities beyond launch services.
The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing targeted messaging about Rocket Lab’s space systems products and services. Key tasks include creating business development materials such as one-pagers, pitch decks, case studies, website and social content, brochures, and presentations. The role also involves writing stories about missions, technology, and vision for various platforms, including blog posts, press releases, social media, scripts, and speeches. Collaboration with technical and business development teams is essential to ensure accuracy and message alignment. Additionally, the manager will lead planning and implementation for new programs and product launches, identify opportunities for media engagement, manage events like key conferences and customer experience events, and work with designers, photographers, and videographers to create engaging visual content.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in product marketing or related roles. Exceptional storytelling skills are crucial, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible narratives for diverse audiences. A proven track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, business development, legal, and government operations, is required. Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and clarity are essential. The role requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed, and full-time onsite presence in Long Beach, CA, with domestic and international travel as required.
