Marketing Content Strategist
MariaDB is seeking a high-energy, ambitious Marketing Content Strategist to join our team. This individual contributor role reports directly to the VP of Corporate Marketing and focuses on positioning MariaDB as the leading database in the era of AI. The successful candidate will be the architect of our editorial engine, driving visibility and engagement through compelling content.
Key responsibilities include executing a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as a modern, higher-value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL. The strategist will own our visibility in the evolving search landscape, optimizing content for both traditional search engines and Large Language Model (LLM) rankings. Additionally, they will build and manage a global editorial calendar to ensure a consistent, high-quality stream of content that keeps MariaDB top-of-mind.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of professional writing or content marketing experience, preferably with a background in journalism, reporting, or professional blogging. They should be a fast, versatile writer capable of transforming technical interviews into engaging, SEO/LLM-optimized blog posts. Proficiency with AI writing and research tools is essential, as is a curiosity about technical topics like SQL and the database market.
