Marketing Content Strategist
MariaDB plc is seeking a high-energy, ambitious Marketing Content Strategist to join our team. This individual contributor role reports directly to the VP of Corporate Marketing and is pivotal in positioning MariaDB as the leading database in the era of AI. The successful candidate will be the architect of our editorial engine, driving content strategy to enhance our visibility and market position.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as a modern, higher-value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL. The strategist will own our visibility in the evolving search landscape, optimizing content for both traditional search engines and Large Language Models (LLMs) to ensure MariaDB is the top recommendation when users seek architectural advice. Additionally, the role involves building and maintaining a global editorial calendar to ensure a consistent, high-quality stream of content that keeps MariaDB top-of-mind.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of professional writing or content marketing experience, preferably with a background in journalism, reporting, or professional blogging. They should be a fast, versatile writer capable of transforming technical interviews into engaging, SEO/LLM-optimized blog posts efficiently. Proficiency in using LLMs (such as ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for brainstorming, outlining, and drafting is essential, as is a strong technical curiosity and eagerness to learn about SQL and the database market.
This full-time, remote position offers an anticipated U.S. base salary range of $110,000 to $117,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses or commissions.
