Archer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to revolutionize urban air mobility. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of innovative aircraft systems within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing inlet and exhaust ducting systems for turboshaft engines and thermal management systems on our aircraft. Your day-to-day tasks will include collaborating with aerothermal analysts to optimize duct designs for performance, pressure drop, and thermal efficiency. You will own the design process from concept through production, including requirements definition, 3D CAD modeling, drawing creation, bill of materials management, and design verification. Additionally, you will interface with suppliers to manage fabrication, ensure design intent is met, and resolve manufacturing issues.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 15 years of mechanical design engineering experience in aerospace or propulsion systems, along with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Experience in designing ducting, inlet systems, exhaust systems, or thermal management systems is essential. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA) and the ability to create complex surface and sheet metal designs are required. Familiarity with GD&T, manufacturing drawings, and aerospace hardware standards is also necessary.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, with a targeted base pay range of $144,000 to $198,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
