Mechanical Engineer, Frame and Cab
Harbinger Motors Inc., an American commercial electric vehicle company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Frame and Cab Chassis team. This role focuses on designing and releasing secondary structures, brackets, and sub-assemblies, contributing to the development of innovative EV platforms. The position is based in Garden Grove, California.
The Mechanical Engineer will develop 3D models and 2D drawings for chassis components, including frame attachments, battery mounting brackets, and cab interfaces, using CATIA V5/V6. Responsibilities include managing the Release to Manufacturing process, overseeing BOM management and ECO documentation, performing structural analysis and clearance checks to ensure compatibility with high-voltage cabling and powertrain components, and collaborating with suppliers to design parts optimized for high-yield manufacturing processes such as stamping, casting, or weldments.
Candidates should possess a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment design. Proficiency in CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE (V6) is essential, along with a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5 standards.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $110,000 annually.
