Quality Lead
As a Quality Lead at Harbinger Motors Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electric vehicle (EV) platform. You will lead a team responsible for conducting thorough inspections, implementing quality control measures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve our production standards. This position is based in Sturgis, Michigan, and offers an opportunity to contribute to a company dedicated to transforming the commercial EV industry.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing comprehensive evaluations of incoming materials, components, and finished products to detect defects and deviations from established quality standards. You will ensure precise record-keeping of inspection results, including detailed reports and photographs. Collaborating with the quality control team, you will address material quality concerns and determine appropriate dispositions, such as acceptance, rejection, or rework. Additionally, you will work with production and quality teams to analyze root causes of defects and propose process improvements, engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a leader who empowers others rather than micromanaging. You should be comfortable with computers and computer systems, skilled at reading and understanding engineering drawings, standards, and procedures, and experienced in working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Practical experience in performing both in-process and final inspections is essential. Proficiency in using a range of mechanical and electrical inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, surface plates, height gauges, comparators, gauge blocks, and thread gauges, is required. A commitment to maintaining accuracy and attention to detail while completing tasks efficiently is crucial. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for reporting, the ability to work independently and make informed decisions based on general guidance, and a collaborative approach to achieving common goals are also important.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team, and at least 5 years of experience working in quality inspection roles, preferably within the automotive industry.
Compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually.
