Mechanical Engineer III - Design
As a Mechanical Engineer III at Voyager Technologies, you will be instrumental in designing and analyzing systems related to solid rocket motors. This role involves collaborating with a dedicated team to develop innovative defense technologies that address complex challenges in national security and space exploration.
Your primary responsibilities will include applying fundamental design principles to create actuator designs, performing stress analyses, and developing pressure vessel designs. You will also conduct complex simulations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, carry out structural and thermal analyses, and interpret results to optimize designs. Additionally, you will be expected to create intricate 2D and 3D models using computer-aided design (CAD) tools, produce precise technical drawings, and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
The ideal candidate will possess four to seven years of mechanical engineering experience, with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD and CFD software, a strong understanding of materials properties, and experience in manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing and machining are essential. Effective communication skills are also crucial, as you will be required to handle complex communication scenarios, deliver technical presentations, and produce detailed technical reports.
