Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Manufacturing organization, focusing on the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies for PCBA and product-level test systems. This role involves creating fixtures with tight tolerances and both pneumatic and manually actuated assemblies, requiring expertise in surfaces to mate supports, jigs, and clamps to shipping products. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of defense technology by integrating cutting-edge mechanical designs into manufacturing test systems.
Key responsibilities include designing mechanical assemblies using professional CAD tools, collaborating with rapid fabrication teams or third-party suppliers to source equipment, and integrating designs into Anduril’s Product Data Management (PDM) systems. The engineer will work closely with design teams to incorporate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) requirements into products. Additionally, the role involves developing complex electromechanical systems within a multidisciplinary group, generating test work instructions for technician teams, determining root causes of product failures, and analyzing test data to identify defects and areas for improvement.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, along with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience emphasizing product designs that have progressed to manufacturing. Proficiency with at least one mechanical design package, experience with contract manufacturers and in-house fabrication, and familiarity with electronics test equipment are essential. Strong root cause analysis skills, excellent communication abilities, and familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems are also required. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is mandatory.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $99,000 to $131,000 USD, with highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers.
