Archer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Powertrain Integration to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft aimed at revolutionizing urban air mobility with sustainable solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and integration of powertrain components in our prototype aircraft, working alongside a team committed to innovation and excellence.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing mechanical integration solutions for powertrain components, including generators, turboshaft engines, and energy storage systems. Your duties will encompass creating detailed metallic parts and assemblies to support powertrain mounting and structural interfaces, performing structural analyses to verify component margins and load paths, and collaborating with structural analysts to ensure designs meet strength and fatigue requirements. Additionally, you will oversee the prototype development process, from requirements and design to procurement, assembly, and testing.

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 15 years of engineering experience and hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Exposure to integrating air-breathing turbomachinery or propulsion systems, proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or NX, and familiarity with Mil-Spec fasteners and aerospace hardware standards are essential. Experience with finite element analysis tools like NASTRAN or ANSYS, designing metallic parts, and knowledge of high voltage DC systems are also required. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are highly valued.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $144,000 to $198,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
