Mechatronics Engineer, FW/MCUs/Controls
Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join their team in Costa Mesa, California. This role involves developing complex systems such as optical systems, batteries, mechanisms, control systems, and sensors. The position requires a hands-on, self-starting individual who can collaborate across disciplines and take ownership of projects. Opportunities for growth and leadership are available.
Key responsibilities include rapidly evaluating engineering concepts across various fields, identifying and managing relationships with industry partners, conducting trade studies and physics-based analyses, and overseeing the design, implementation, and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems. The engineer will also lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans, build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Supporting critical hardware demonstrations and traveling to test sites as needed are also part of the role.
Required qualifications include experience in immersive technical projects, demonstrated leadership skills, over three years of electrical/design experience, familiarity with microcontrollers, power conversion, and system integration, and the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, a degree in an engineering field, and be eligible for a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications encompass experience with ECAD and MCAD tools, hands-on prototyping, leadership and interpersonal skills, and familiarity with designing for rugged environments.
The salary range for this position is $142,000 to $213,000 annually, with actual offers varying based on factors such as experience and education.
