Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney
Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices nationwide, is seeking a dedicated Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney to join their team in White Plains or New York City. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to work within a leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation.
The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload involving the defense of nursing home negligence claims. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of litigation, such as pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances. Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive counsel is essential. Additionally, the attorney will draft and review complex legal documents and collaborate closely with team members and partners on strategic legal projects.
Applicants must possess a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in New York. A minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience, with a strong focus on medical malpractice and nursing home negligence matters, is required. Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions, is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral advocacy skills and the ability to independently manage complex cases. Trial experience is a plus.
