MES Solution Engineer
Archer is seeking an experienced MES Solution Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing execution systems that bridge the gap between enterprise resource planning systems and shop floor operations. This role is integral to Archer's mission of advancing sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to innovation and excellence in aerospace manufacturing.
The MES Solution Engineer will be responsible for designing comprehensive MES architecture solutions aligned with business requirements, defining system interfaces, data flows, and integration points with ERP, WMS, SCADA, and other enterprise systems. Key responsibilities include leading MES implementation projects from conception to deployment, configuring and customizing MES platforms, integrating manufacturing systems with databases, PLCs, HMIs, and IoT devices, and developing APIs and middleware solutions for seamless data exchange. Additionally, the role involves analyzing manufacturing workflows to identify optimization opportunities, designing solutions for production tracking, quality management, and inventory control, and implementing real-time manufacturing dashboards and reporting systems.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing systems and industrial automation, including 5 years of hands-on experience with MES platforms and implementation. Technical skills required include expertise in MES platforms such as Wonderware MES, Siemens Opcenter, or Rockwell FactoryTalk, strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and shop floor operations, experience with industrial communication protocols like OPC UA, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP, proficiency in databases such as SQL Server and Oracle, and programming languages including C#, Java, and Python. A deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing operations, quality management systems like AS 9100, FAA regulations, lean manufacturing principles, and Industry 4.0 concepts is also essential.
Archer offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary ranging from $190,000 to $220,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
