Metrology Manager
Archer is seeking a Metrology Engineering Manager to lead the development and implementation of its enterprise Metrology and Dimensional Engineering Program. This role reports to the Director of Product Quality and is integral to ensuring the precision and quality of Archer's all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.
The Metrology Engineering Manager will be responsible for engineering and executing the strategic roadmap for metrology hardware and software integration, ensuring digital continuity between CAD models and physical inspection results. Key duties include leading the development of comprehensive aircraft inspection plans utilizing Model-Based Definition (MBD) and advanced GD&T synthesis, architecting a robust verification framework for the Midnight program, and designing complex measurement algorithms for critical aircraft features using high-precision laser trackers and spatial analyzer platforms.
Candidates must possess a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, along with over 10 years of experience in Metrology Engineering or Dimensional Management within aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing. Expert-level proficiency in Metrology Engineering software such as PolyWorks, Calypso, or Spatial Analyzer is required, as well as deep technical mastery of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and strong experience in Metrology Systems Engineering, including the selection and qualification of measurement systems like CMM, Laser Tracker, and Photogrammetry.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $117,500 to $155,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
