Mexico Language Manager
The Mexico Language Manager at Canva is responsible for shaping the company's voice across all product areas in Mexican Spanish. This role involves translating and reviewing key product and marketing content, managing relationships with localization partners and vendors, and developing style guides and glossaries to ensure consistency and quality. The position is based in Mexico City and is a 12-month full-time engagement.
Key responsibilities include providing cultural insights and localization recommendations to enhance the user experience for Mexican audiences, assessing machine translation and AI-generated language outputs to maintain high-quality local experiences, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, subscriptions, content, and localization to deliver impactful initiatives. Additionally, the role involves identifying opportunities to improve localization workflows, tooling, and quality processes at scale.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and communicator in Mexican Spanish, with a strong understanding of tone, localization, and cultural nuance. They should be passionate about language and creativity, thrive in fast-moving environments, and have experience working with CAT tools and localization platforms. Strong attention to detail, the ability to review and improve translated content, and experience collaborating cross-functionally are essential. Bonus points are given for experience with SaaS localization, SEO, copywriting, or design tools like Canva.
