The Mission Software Engineer, Air Vehicle Autonomy, GenSWE role at Anduril Industries involves developing advanced software for aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The position is part of the Air Dominance & Strike team, which is responsible for products like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda air-breathing cruise missile. Anduril Industries is a defense technology company committed to transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through cutting-edge technology.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with specialized teams such as Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve complex challenges in military systems. The engineer will contribute to the development of Lattice for Mission Autonomy, Anduril’s premier software platform that enables coordination among various robotic systems across different missions. The role involves creating a robust autonomy software stack encompassing computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications.

Required qualifications include eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance, a strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, and at least three years of experience with programming languages like Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, or JavaScript. Candidates should have experience in building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis, the ability to navigate complex systems and established code bases, and a desire to work on critical software with real-world impact.

Preferred qualifications encompass a strong background in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning to inform modeling and simulation of physical systems, experience in developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments, feature and algorithm development with an understanding of behavior trees, development of software/hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality, knowledge of distributed communication networks and message standards, and familiarity with military systems and operational tactics.

The salary range for this position is $166,000 to $220,000 per year.
