Anduril Industries is seeking a Mission Software Engineer specializing in computer vision to join their Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Vehicle Software team. This team is responsible for developing software for autonomous robotic systems, including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The company focuses on transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology, integrating cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology into defense systems.

In this role, the engineer will implement novel image processing algorithms for guidance systems on large air vehicles, utilizing both conventional methods and state-of-the-art machine learning approaches. Responsibilities include integrating and testing camera calibration code, developing real-time image processing algorithms, writing and maintaining high-quality code in Python and C++, optimizing software for performance and reliability, processing and evaluating images from live tests, debugging software and hardware issues, and proposing improvements to enhance system performance.

Candidates must possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, along with at least 4 years of experience writing production software, preferably in C or C++. Direct experience with camera systems, calibration, and pose estimation is required, as well as experience working with Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and implementing state fusion algorithms. A strong desire to work on critical software with real-world impact and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance are also necessary.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $191,000 to $253,000 USD, with actual offers varying based on factors such as experience and skills.
