Of Counsel / Commercial Litigation

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to join its litigation team as Of Counsel in the Downtown Los Angeles office. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an expanding practice that provides a range of litigation services to clients across various industries. The Downtown Los Angeles office, established in August 2024, is situated in the historic Bunker Hill neighborhood, within walking distance of Los Angeles County's busiest state, federal, appellate, and complex courthouses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and preparing pleadings and discovery, managing document production, and preparing for, taking, and defending depositions. Additionally, the role involves arguing discovery motions, dispositive motions, and class certification motions, as well as assisting in both jury and bench trials. The attorney will work closely with a team that has decades of experience in high-value business and commercial litigation, complex litigation, products liability, consumer class actions, toxic torts, privacy, false advertising, greenwashing, and general negligence/premises liability.

Candidates must have at least 8 years of meaningful experience in complex commercial litigation matters within a mid-size or large law firm setting. Experience in asbestos and/or talc litigation is preferred. Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills, strong academic credentials, and proficiency in case management are essential. The candidate should be ready to take the lead and must be admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $250,000 to $330,000 annually, determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits, including healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
