On - Demand Driver

As an On-Demand Driver at Sioux Area Metro (SAM) by Via in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, you will be responsible for operating buses to provide safe and reliable transportation services to the community. This role involves navigating both city and highway traffic conditions, ensuring timely and courteous service to all passengers.

Your daily responsibilities will include driving vehicles in various traffic conditions, operating lift-equipped vehicles to assist elderly and disabled passengers, and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations. You will also be expected to perform routine vehicle operations and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates should possess a good knowledge of Sioux Falls, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and operate a bus within standard safety guidelines. A valid South Dakota driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and have a clean driving record with no major violations.

Compensation for this position starts at $22.50 per hour during training and probation, with potential increases up to $25.00 per hour. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match, holiday pay, vacation, and bonus days.
