Operations Lead Support Specialist
The Operations Lead Support Specialist at Legend Biotech is a key member of the Technical Operations team, responsible for producing personalized cell therapies in a sterile cGMP environment. This role supports both clinical and commercial manufacturing requirements and operates on a Sunday to Wednesday, second-shift schedule from 1 PM to 12:30 AM.
Key responsibilities include overseeing process unit operations such as cell culture, purification, aseptic processing, and cryopreservation, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and batch records. The specialist records production data accurately, ensures team compliance with safety policies and cGMP requirements, and collaborates with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet production schedules. Additionally, the role involves mastering process systems like MES, SAP/S4, and eLims, providing frontline support to operators, and driving continuous improvements within cell therapy operations.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, and have 1.5 to 3 years of operations experience in a cGMP environment within the biotech or biopharma industry. Essential skills include the ability to build strong partnerships, work independently, manage multiple tasks, lead small teams, and communicate effectively. Physical requirements include the ability to lift at least 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle human-derived materials in a BSL-2 cleanroom facility. Flexibility to accommodate shift work, including evenings, weekends, and unplanned overtime, is also necessary.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $75,972 to $99,713 annually, with potential for performance-based bonuses and equity.
