Payroll Country Lead - Italy APL
The Payroll Country Lead - Italy APL at Remote is responsible for overseeing the complete payroll operations for the Italian market, ensuring timely and accurate processing in compliance with local government regulations. This role involves providing guidance and mentorship to the payroll team, serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all payroll-related matters, and staying updated with international payroll laws, regulations, taxes, and benefits.
Key responsibilities include managing relationships with payroll, accounting, and payroll service providers, including staffing agencies (APL), developing and implementing best practices, key performance indicators, and service level agreements for the team. The role also entails ensuring all relevant payroll processes are documented and maintained in line with internal governance requirements and external legislative/regulatory requirements, including GDPR. Additionally, the Payroll Country Lead will plan for, implement, and review system development, statutory changes, and periodic processes, supporting testing for development/enhancements to the payroll system, with a specific focus on Zucchetti Paghe Project where applicable.
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in regional or global payroll operations, including experience within Italian staffing agencies (APL). They should possess the ability to manage risk and exercise judgment to resolve or escalate issues, exercise discretion when handling confidential matters, and have an understanding of global payroll best practices. Experience in implementing payroll in multiple countries and managing relationships with third-party payroll services is essential. Proficiency in using software tools like SAP, Excel/Google Sheets, and Zucchetti Paghe Project is required. The candidate should have proven experience as a Payroll Expert, with extensive knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes within an APL context. An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities, adaptability to a fast-paced international work environment, and a passion for making an impact are also important. Fluency in English is required, and experience working remotely is considered a plus.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $53,900 to $60,600 USD.
