Payroll Lead
The Payroll Lead at Braze is a pivotal role within the Finance Department, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end international payroll functions for a rapidly expanding workforce of over 300 employees. This position is based in Singapore and involves managing payroll operations across multiple countries, including Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Indonesia, and Dubai. The role requires close collaboration with the Global People team to implement process improvements and optimize payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll-related activities.
Key responsibilities include leading the geographic expansion of payroll processing into new countries as the company grows its global footprint. The Payroll Lead will support payroll system testing and implementations, manage payroll due diligence and integration for potential acquisitions, and maintain policies and procedures, including key internal control documentation. Additionally, the role involves creating payroll journal entries for import into the accounting system, working with tax agencies and in-country payroll service providers to resolve tax issues, and providing support for various audits as needed.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of payroll experience in the APAC region, with a thorough knowledge of APAC payroll taxes and regulations. Proficiency in Workday and other foreign payroll platforms, such as ADP Celergo, is essential. The role requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Strong written and communication skills are necessary, along with experience in setting up payroll in foreign countries and a general understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
