Payroll Specialist Lead - Spain
Remote is seeking a Payroll Specialist Lead to join its Global Payroll Operations Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the global employment space by managing payroll processes and ensuring compliance across international operations. The position is fully remote, allowing candidates to work from anywhere, with a preference for those based in Spain.
The Payroll Specialist Lead will act as a subject matter expert for the country, managing relationships with key stakeholders within Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams. Responsibilities include processing end-to-end payroll in-house, handling statutory filing requirements, managing exceptions, approvals, payments, and ensuring compliance. The role also involves maintaining data integrity and quality, performing accounting reconciliations, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), implementing and improving processes, mentoring payroll specialists, and providing backup support to regional managers during absences.
Candidates should have payroll management or equivalent experience, knowledge of payroll best practices, and proficiency in software tools like SAP and Excel or Google Sheets. An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities is essential, along with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, seeks ways to improve and expedite work processes, understands the importance of asynchronous work, and is fluent in English. While not required, experience working remotely is considered a plus.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is €43,000 to €47,000 EUR.
