The Payroll Specialist Lead - UK will serve as the primary expert on UK payroll operations within Remote's Global Payroll Operations Team. This role involves managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maintaining data integrity. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the global employment space by contributing to the development of best-in-class HR solutions.

Key responsibilities include processing in-house payroll from start to finish, handling statutory filings, managing exceptions, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely payments. The role also involves accounting and reconciliations, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), implementing and improving processes, mentoring payroll specialists, and providing backup support to regional managers during absences.

Candidates should have experience in payroll management or equivalent roles, with a strong understanding of payroll best practices. Proficiency in software tools such as SAP and Excel or Google Sheets is essential. An analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities is required, along with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment. Fluency in English is necessary, and experience working remotely is considered a plus. Demonstrated capabilities in automation and AI are also important for this role.
