Archer is seeking a Powertrain Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. This role focuses on scaling the production of our High Voltage Electric Propulsion System, a critical component of our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing testing strategies to ensure the performance, safety, and integration of our propulsion systems.

Key responsibilities include leading End-of-Line (EOL) and in-process test development for high-voltage batteries and electric motors. The engineer will design and deploy manufacturing test strategies, specify and validate production test equipment, and program automated test equipment. Collaboration with Manufacturing, Design, Quality, and Test teams is essential to integrate test stations into production lines and enhance throughput, yield, and quality. Additionally, the role involves analyzing production test data to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field, along with a minimum of three years of manufacturing test engineering experience, preferably in EV battery or electric motor production. Hands-on experience with production test equipment and automated electrical test systems is required, as well as a strong understanding of high-voltage safety and battery and motor manufacturing processes. Proficiency in test data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and manufacturing test data systems (MES) is also necessary.

Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $126,700 to $158,400, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are committed to providing a safe workplace and a safe aircraft, with employment in safety-sensitive positions contingent on successful passage of a background check and subject to pre-employment and random drug screening.
