The Principal Network Engineer, Planning & Performance at Skylo Technologies will be a key contributor to the Network Design and Planning team, focusing on the development and evolution of the company's satellite communication network infrastructure. This role is based in Espoo, Finland, and is integral to ensuring the network's reliability, scalability, and high performance to meet both current and future customer demands and business objectives.

Key responsibilities include performing satellite beam and RF planning, leading Earth Station, Core network, and Cloud Application planning and dimensioning, and developing network performance and optimization guidelines for Non-Terrestrial Networks. The engineer will also create technical specifications and detailed designs for network elements, optimize existing networks for cost-efficiency and scalability, conduct proof-of-concepts to validate technical proposals, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with Operations and Implementation teams. Additionally, the role involves leading a small team of engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and overseeing project deliverables to ensure alignment with company goals.

Candidates should have experience in network design and planning within cellular telecommunications, preferably acquired within a mobile network operator or a vendor providing equipment and services to such operators. Experience with Non-Terrestrial Networks is highly preferred. The role requires proven ability in traffic forecasting and resource planning, expertise in defining KPI frameworks, and a strong background in telecom standards, particularly satellite and mobile network systems. Proficiency with 3GPP standards, cloud-native architectures, and network virtualization is essential, along with strong analytical skills for KPI analysis, capacity planning, and optimization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for creating detailed technical documentation and presenting solutions. Hands-on experience with LTE eNodeB, 5G gNodeB, EPC Core, 5G Core, and cloud technologies such as Virtual Machines, Docker, and Kubernetes is also required.
