Principal Software Engineer, Full Stack
Skylo Technologies is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Full Stack, to join our Connectivity Platform team in Bangalore, India. This senior, hands-on role involves leading the architecture, design, and implementation of critical product features and services, contributing to our mission of making satellite connectivity universally accessible. The position requires onsite presence three days a week.
In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and designing complex, large-scale, distributed backend systems, making key decisions on architecture, design patterns, and infrastructure. You will define and steer the technical strategy for major components and product features, collaborating closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders. Leading the implementation of large-scale features from design to deployment, you will also champion engineering excellence through code and design reviews, mentor engineers at various levels, ensure quality and security by defining test scenarios and enforcing best practices, and optimize system performance and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have over 16 years of progressive experience in software engineering, focusing on backend development and distributed systems architecture. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Technical leadership experience, deep proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python, and extensive experience with microservices architecture, API design, and data stores are essential. Strong frontend development skills with React.js or Angular.js, cloud-native fluency with environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and a solid understanding of quality and observability practices are also important. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally are necessary.
