Senior System Test Engineer
Skylo Technologies is seeking a Senior System Test Engineer to join our team in Mountain View, CA. This role involves designing and executing quality assurance strategies for our end-to-end satellite Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN), ensuring system reliability, performance, and compliance with 3GPP standards across device, radio access, and core network layers. The engineer will collaborate closely with system architects, software developers, and network engineers to validate network features, field deployments, and customer-facing services.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing comprehensive test plans to validate Skylo’s NTN system functionality, scalability, and performance. The engineer will conduct integration, interoperability, and regression testing across device, RAN, core network, and satellite segments, perform lab-based and field-based testing under real-world conditions, analyze and debug complex system issues, and define KPIs for ongoing system validation. Additionally, the role involves actively participating in test automation and mentoring junior engineers.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in system test or validation engineering for large-scale, distributed, or telecommunications systems. A strong understanding of 3GPP cellular protocols (LTE/5G/NBIOT-NTN), QA processes, and hands-on experience with system integration, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end validation are essential. Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, Go, or Ruby on Unix/Linux systems, along with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, is required.
The compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000 plus equity. This range reflects the low and high end of what Skylo reasonably expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
