Archer is seeking a deeply technical, hands-on Principal Platform Architect and Tech Lead to serve as the technical authority for the Enterprise OS team. This high-leverage role is centered on building a foundational platform layer that sits above core enterprise systems, including SAP S/4HANA, Workday, Google Workspace, and Okta. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and implementing core services that enable secure, reliable applications atop unified enterprise data.

Key responsibilities include acting as the Tech Lead for the platform team, driving technical decisions, managing architectural trade-offs, and ensuring adherence to high engineering standards through rigorous design and code reviews. The role involves defining canonical entity models that normalize data across multiple enterprise systems, designing and implementing core backend services (preferably in Go), and establishing scalable connector/integration patterns for ingesting, enriching, and serving enterprise entities. Additionally, the architect will develop a policy-based authorization approach with entity-level access control and data masking, and enable AI-assisted workflows with strict access boundaries and full audit logs.

The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience building distributed systems, backend platforms, or internal developer platforms, with strong hands-on backend engineering experience, preferably in Go. Deep expertise in relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, is required, including schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and migrations. Experience designing canonical data models across heterogeneous systems, defining durable API contracts, and implementing secure authorization patterns is essential. Cloud-native experience with AWS or GCP and a demonstrated ability to ship production systems used by other teams are also important.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits plan with medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off. Employees have access to professional development opportunities and a collaborative work environment that fosters innovation and growth.

Joining Archer means becoming part of a pioneering team dedicated to advancing sustainable air mobility. The company values diversity and inclusivity, creating an equitable environment that supports and celebrates all team members. This role provides the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a dynamic industry, contributing to the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that aim to revolutionize urban transportation.
