Principal Product Manager, AI Platform (devEx)
Skyscanner is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the development of its AI Platform, focusing on enhancing the developer experience and productivity essential for building world-class AI systems. This role is pivotal in shaping the foundation that powers Skyscanner’s next generation of AI capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and deployment across the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the roadmap for Skyscanner’s Generative AI platform, encompassing infrastructure, tooling, developer productivity, and observability. Key duties include designing platform capabilities that facilitate effortless experimentation, evaluation, and deployment of AI features, thereby boosting productivity through measurable outcomes. Additionally, the role involves partnering with security, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure responsible AI usage and policy adherence, as well as building and scaling Skyscanner’s knowledge graph and evaluation frameworks for both internal and traveler-facing AI applications.
Applicants should possess a deep technical understanding of modern AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), embeddings, evaluation frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), inference pipelines, and prompt engineering. Experience in developer-facing environments, with a track record of shipping products or tools that have improved engineering velocity or workflow quality, is essential. Familiarity with operationalizing AI, including evaluation frameworks, reproducibility, model registries, and scaling considerations, is also required. Candidates should be metrics-driven, with a strong focus on quantifying impact through productivity metrics, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, influencing through trust and expertise.
