Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer at Peak Energy, you will play a pivotal role in the technical execution of our utility-scale energy storage projects. Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Finance, and internal engineering teams, you will ensure that projects are designed and implemented to meet technical specifications, cost-effectiveness, and execution efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sodium-ion battery systems, positioning them as a standard for renewable energy storage on a resilient grid.
Your primary responsibilities will include creating and optimizing site layouts, electrical designs, and conceptual engineering packages for utility-scale storage projects. You will manage technical due diligence processes, including geotechnical, environmental, and interconnection studies, and partner with EPC contractors to evaluate construction methods, cost estimates, and schedules. Additionally, you will support Project Managers in technical aspects of permitting and community engagement, ensuring that interconnection requirements, codes, and standards are incorporated into project designs.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field, along with 3–7 years of experience in engineering for renewable energy or power projects. Proficiency in site design, layout, and electrical system modeling tools such as AutoCAD is essential. A strong understanding of interconnection processes, codes, standards, and the EPC contracting process is required. The ability to collaborate across teams, translate technical details into project decisions, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with attention to constructability and cost-effectiveness is crucial. A passion for renewable energy and sustainability is highly valued.
Compensation for this role ranges from $140,000 to $210,000 annually, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills.
