Rocket Lab is seeking a Propulsion Technician - Assembly to join our Electron team in Waikato, New Zealand. This role involves working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure the highest product quality and safety standards for Electron propulsion systems. Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, and satellite components, aiming to open access to space.

The Propulsion Technician will be responsible for receiving engines and components from production departments and completing final assembly, testing, and maintenance activities at the Test Complex. Testing includes acceptance, qualification, and development testing for Rutherford engines, Curie engines, and Electron stages. Additionally, the role involves facility infrastructure work to support maintenance, upgrades, and contributions to new projects. Technicians are assigned primary responsibilities in one of three work centers: Engine Test, Stage Test, or Propulsion Assembly, with cross-functional collaboration as needed.

Candidates must be trade-qualified with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience in mechanical and electrical production or maintenance activities. They should demonstrate impeccable attention to detail, the ability to follow processes without fault, and experience working with personal protective equipment and safety processes in hazardous environments. Experience in clean room environments, including oxygen service cleanliness, is also required. An appropriate trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical assembly is necessary.
