The Public Sector Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Motive is a pivotal role within our Sales Development team, focusing on engaging potential clients in the government and education sectors. Motive empowers physical operations with tools to enhance safety, productivity, and profitability, serving nearly 100,000 customers across various industries, including the public sector.

In this role, you will manage outbound lead generation by researching and contacting prospective customers to understand their business needs and educate them on how Motive can help them achieve their goals. Your day-to-day activities will include engaging prospective clients through cold calls, emails, and other outbound efforts, identifying and qualifying leads based on set criteria, and partnering with Account Executives to strategize on outreach and deal progression. Additionally, you will uncover prospect pain points, priorities, and challenges to position solutions, schedule qualified meetings between prospects and Account Executives, and stay sharp on our products, services, and industry trends to bring value to every conversation. Consistently meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly pipeline goals is also expected.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree and preferably has experience in public sector sales. You should possess a strong work ethic, resilience, and a drive to succeed, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Being coachable with a team-first mindset is essential. Prior experience with cold calling or CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot is a plus. The position requires the ability to work in a hybrid capacity from our Austin or Nashville office.
