Quality Assistance Engineer - International
Canva is seeking Quality Assistance Engineers to join its International team, focusing on enhancing user acquisition, engagement, and retention by upholding the highest quality standards in growth-focused experiments and features. This role involves close collaboration with developers, product managers, and data analysts to improve the quality, reliability, and performance of growth initiatives throughout the development cycle. The position offers flexibility to work from any first or second-tier city in mainland China.
Key responsibilities include driving quality improvements within the growth team by implementing process, tooling, and testing changes. The engineer will be responsible for creating test strategies for team projects, emphasizing shift-left QA activities. Monitoring and analyzing test results, collaborating with developers and product managers to debug issues, and ensuring swift resolution are also essential duties. Additionally, the role involves working with data analysts to verify experiment results, ensure accurate data tracking, and assist with root cause analysis. Serving as the subject matter expert for the team's testing and product knowledge, the engineer will drive knowledge sharing and documentation among team members and other software engineers and QA professionals.
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, with proficiency in testing web applications, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and/or backend services. Experience working with engineers and a solid understanding of complex user interfaces are essential. The candidate should have experience collaborating with product teams and defining QA processes, including identifying opportunities for quality enhancement and advocating for process changes. Strong task coordination and self-prioritization skills based on business needs are required. Proficiency in English reading and writing, along with fluent speaking abilities, is also necessary.
