In this role, the Quality Technician will perform metrology inspections using advanced measurement tools and techniques to ensure vehicle components meet precise specifications. Daily tasks include setting up and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM), laser scanners, and other precision instruments, as well as documenting findings in detailed inspection reports. The technician will work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve non-conformance issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidates for this position should have a background in metrology or mechanical inspection in a manufacturing or automotive environment. Essential skills include proficiency with CMMs and laser scanning equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Experience with data collection and analysis, along with effective communication skills, is highly desirable. An associate’s degree or relevant certification in a technical field is typically required, with experience in electric vehicle or automotive industries considered a plus.
