R&D Management Leadership Development Program
The R&D Management Leadership Development Program at Legend Biotech is a highly selective, enterprise leadership accelerator designed for high-performing PhD scientists with 7–10 years of industry experience who are ready to transition from deep scientific expertise to enterprise-level leadership. Participants will engage in a 2-3 year project-based program, contributing to high-impact strategic and scientific initiatives across the R&D ecosystem. Legend Biotech is a global biotechnology company dedicated to developing advanced cell therapies, headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey, with R&D sites in Somerset, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA.
Participants will lead complex, cross-functional projects that directly impact R&D strategy, clinical advancement, or manufacturing scalability. They will partner with senior leaders across Research, Clinical, Regulatory, and Technical Operations to drive decision-making and translate scientific insights into actionable business and development strategies. Additionally, participants will contribute to the advancement of cell and gene therapy programs from early discovery through commercialization and present recommendations and insights to executive leadership, influencing enterprise priorities.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology, or related life sciences disciplines, with 7–10 years of industry experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or related fields. They should have demonstrated experience advancing scientific or clinical programs in R&D, proven ability to lead complex projects and collaborate across cross-functional teams, and strong business acumen connecting scientific work to broader organizational strategy. Experience in cell therapy is preferred, along with a record of scientific rigor, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
The base pay range for this position is $81,273 to $106,669 annually, with performance-based bonuses and/or equity available to eligible employees.
