Reactor Operator
The Reactor Operator position at Oklo involves the safe and precise manipulation of facility controls to support commissioning, initial startup, testing, and ongoing operational activities. Operators are responsible for hands-on operation and maintenance of reactor and facility systems, adhering to detailed procedures, and continuously monitoring reactor parameters to ensure safe and compliant performance. This role is critical in bringing the facility from pre-operational testing through initial criticality and into operations.
Key responsibilities include operating reactor and facility systems in accordance with approved procedures and safety standards, performing hands-on manipulation of facility controls, monitoring reactor parameters and facility instrumentation, conducting routine equipment checks and operational tests, maintaining accurate logs and operational records, responding to alarms and abnormal events, performing maintenance activities within qualification boundaries, supporting commissioning and initial startup testing, ensuring adherence to safety practices, collaborating with engineering and maintenance personnel, and participating in training and qualification programs.
Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or GED. For Senior Reactor Operator candidates, three years of nuclear operations experience is required, with formal education potentially substituting part of the experience requirements. Experience acquired at nuclear power, test, and research reactors counts towards nuclear experience.
Oklo offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $180,000, along with flexible time off, equity, 401k, health insurance, FSA, flexible work hours, and other benefits.
