Remote Database Administrator Cloud

MariaDB plc is seeking a Remote Database Administrator to join our globally distributed team, focusing on our SkySQL cloud platform. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of customers, providing expert-level database administration services in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities include performing remote DBA activities such as database monitoring, performance optimization, issue resolution, architecture design, upgrades, backup configuration, and recovery assistance. The role also involves automating routine tasks, setting up monitoring systems, conducting periodic health checks, and contributing to community engagement through blogging and social media.

Candidates should have a passion for customer service and technical problem-solving, with experience in MariaDB/MySQL and related tools. Proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization, database design and administration, and understanding of high availability environments are essential. Strong troubleshooting skills, excellent English communication abilities, and comfort with remote work are also required.
