Research Engineer, Machine Learning

Anduril Industries is seeking a Research Engineer specializing in Machine Learning to join our Frontier AI team. This team is dedicated to integrating edge-compatible, generative AI systems into our Lattice software platform, enhancing autonomy and reducing cognitive load for military personnel. Anduril is a defense technology company committed to transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology.

In this role, you will distill and fine-tune transformer architectures for deployment on edge devices and in compute-denied environments. You will also propose and prototype LLM-based agentic systems to address real-world challenges, leveraging state-of-the-art techniques. Additionally, you will develop and maintain mission-relevant benchmarks and collaborate cross-functionally to identify and scope new research problems.

Candidates must possess a BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with over 5 years of experience in developing and benchmarking ML algorithms. Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch are essential. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is required.

The salary range for this position is $220,000 to $292,000 annually.
