Research Engineer - Robot Learning
Applied Intuition is seeking multiple Research Engineers to join its Research Group, focusing on advancing physical AI technologies in autonomous driving and general robotics. The team comprises experts recognized for their contributions to premier conferences and journals. Engineers will have access to extensive data and tools to develop and deploy methods across various autonomous and robotic systems.
Responsibilities include setting up robotic and data collection hardware, designing mechatronic systems, constructing large-scale robotic simulation environments for reinforcement learning training, processing human data for robotic applications, collaborating on high-quality research publications, and working with engineering teams to deploy algorithms for mass production vehicles and tools supporting autonomy development.
Candidates should have hands-on experience in areas such as world-action foundation models, video/Gaussian generation, diffusion policy, multi-modal robot learning, VLA post-training, reinforcement learning, physics-aware reconstruction, or deformable simulation. A passion for scalable autonomy and robotics, strong engineering and research skills, and proficiency in Python, PyTorch, computer vision, robotics systems, and distributed machine learning model training are essential.
Preferred qualifications include industry experience in relevant topics (self-driving applications preferred), an MSc or PhD in machine learning and computer vision with applications in autonomy and robotics, and a passion for building and shipping customer-focused software frameworks or tools.
Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $126,000 to $423,000 annually, equity options, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
