Cato Networks is seeking a Sales Engineer in the Bay Area to serve as a technical resource for its field sales force. In this role, you will actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our solutions. You should be skilled at building relationships and explaining technology and product positioning to both business and technical users, as well as passionate about understanding technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

Key responsibilities include providing technical validation of Cato Networks solutions to prospects, developing and delivering product demonstrations, presenting the product to customers and at field events such as conferences and seminars, responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs, conveying customer requirements to Product Management teams, and traveling throughout the sales territory.

The ideal candidate will have over four years of pre-sales or consulting experience working with network and/or cloud security products in a customer-facing role, a proven track record in software sales, and a comprehensive understanding of networking technology, including LAN and WAN technologies, switching and routing, security (firewalls and filtering technologies), and cloud. Strong presentation skills and written communication in emails, RFPs, and reports are essential, along with being organized, analytical, creative, and adaptive in approach and finding solutions.

A reasonable estimate of the salary for this role, at the time of posting, is $230,000 - $250,000.
