Senior Accountant

MariaDB is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting and finance team in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, contributing significantly to the company's financial operations. The Senior Accountant will work closely with various departments, providing broad exposure to full-cycle accounting processes and supporting the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager.

Key responsibilities include executing monthly and quarterly accounting close tasks, preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, and performing analyses of financial trends. The role also involves processing payroll for all employees, resolving payroll-related issues, and assisting in the preparation of supporting schedules for financial statements, tax, and audits. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will mentor junior accounting staff and participate in process optimization and automation efforts.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience in audit with a mid to large size public accounting firm or 3-5 years of experience with a small to mid-size technology/software company. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication abilities are essential. Experience with NetSuite, payroll processing, and a CPA qualification are advantageous.
