The Senior Accountant, Payroll at Unite Us is a pivotal role within the Finance department, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This position collaborates closely with People Operations and Finance teams to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while also supporting various accounting functions such as General Ledger, Travel & Expense (T&E), and Accounts Payable. The role is integral to driving process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and serving as the subject matter expert for payroll accounting and systems.

Key responsibilities include managing biweekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Senior Accountant will oversee payroll accounting activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger alignment. Additional duties encompass executing month-end close activities, supporting General Ledger functions through journal entries and bank reconciliations, providing backup support for Accounts Payable and T&E functions, and performing financial analytics and variance analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related field, with at least five years of accounting experience, including direct experience in payroll. Proficiency in Google G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (with expertise in Excel), and experience with payroll systems—preferably ADP—and ERP software like NetSuite are essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are also required.
