Senior Actuarial Scientist
Spring Health is seeking a Senior Actuarial Scientist to join our Customer Value team. This role involves developing ROI models that quantify cost savings and downstream impacts for our employer and payer populations. The position is based in New York City, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 2–3 days per week in the office.
The Senior Actuarial Scientist will build and maintain actuarial ROI models to assess cost savings and utilization changes across various populations. Responsibilities include presenting ROI findings to clients, developing partnerships with internal teams to align on core assumptions, supporting product evaluations, and contributing actuarial expertise to product development. The role also involves building custom savings and cost models using Excel, querying databases with SQL, and leveraging AI tools to enhance deliverables.
Candidates should possess an Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA) designation and have over five years of experience in financial or actuarial analysis. Hands-on experience with medical claims data, including ICD-10 and CPT codes, is required. Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience writing SQL queries are essential. The ability to work independently, align priorities with cross-functional stakeholders, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Preferred qualifications include experience in startup environments, external-facing roles, vendor evaluation, and familiarity with statistical inference methods or R programming.
The target base salary range for this position is $159,000 to $196,480, complemented by a competitive total rewards package that includes equity and benefits. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, location, and internal pay equity.
