Harbinger Motors Inc., an American commercial electric vehicle company, is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing equipment and automation systems for vehicle General Assembly. This pivotal role involves driving the strategy for a new era of vehicle manufacturing, ensuring assembly lines are efficient, safe, and robust. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, leading a team to build and scale production from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include defining and implementing long-term processes and equipment strategies for General Assembly lines, encompassing conveyance, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robotic fastening, fluid fill, and specialized torque control tooling. The role involves managing the entire equipment lifecycle—from concept and specification to vendor selection, design review, fabrication, installation, commissioning, ramp-up, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the engineer will lead the planning, layout, and installation of new General Assembly lines within existing or new facilities, ensuring seamless integration of equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years focused on General Assembly equipment in the automotive EV or related high-volume manufacturing industry. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Deep expertise in General Assembly processes and equipment, including robotic applications (e.g., Kuka, Fanuc), conveyance systems, nut running, fluid fill, and sealing, is essential. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and strong project management experience are also necessary.

Harbinger offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employee-covered health, dental, and vision insurance, early-stage stock options, robust retirement savings plans (401k, HSA, FSA), generous paid time off and parental leave, an annual vacation bonus, wellness and fertility benefits, a cell phone stipend, and complimentary meals.

Joining Harbinger provides an opportunity to be part of a pioneering team dedicated to transforming the commercial electric vehicle industry. The company fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, offering significant growth opportunities as it scales production to meet the growing demand for medium-duty EVs and hybrids.
