Senior Android Software Engineer - Platform
As a Senior Android Platform Engineer on the Vehicle OS team at Applied Intuition, you will play a pivotal role in developing a universal software foundation that empowers automakers to deliver next-generation vehicle intelligence and software at scale. This position involves working across application, middleware, and hardware layers to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment, driving the transition to a software-defined future for the automotive industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Android/Android Automotive OS middleware systems, spanning from the front-end to the Hardware Abstraction Layer. Your day-to-day activities will include working across the entire stack to develop new products, features, and tools, designing efficient and effective solutions to a wide range of engineering challenges, and shipping complex software in fast-paced environments alongside domain experts across various fields, including infrastructure, automotive, and graphics engineering.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in Android or iOS mobile app development. A strong foundation in C++ and Java programming languages, familiarity with common data structures and algorithms, and knowledge of design patterns and operating systems are essential. Additionally, a good understanding of the Android framework, custom Android HALs, services, and SDK add-ons is required. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and quickly become comfortable with new technical tools and programming languages is also important.
Applied Intuition offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a base salary, equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, and a range of benefits. These benefits encompass comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. The base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 to $265,000 annually, with the actual salary offered influenced by factors such as experience, credentials, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
