Senior Battery Engineer, BMS
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Battery Engineer specializing in Battery Management Systems (BMS) to join their team in Costa Mesa, California. This role involves leading the development of energy storage systems from concept to production, aligning with the company's mission to revolutionize defense technology through advanced solutions.
The Senior Battery Engineer will be responsible for driving end-to-end development of energy storage systems on accelerated timelines. Key tasks include defining actionable requirements, selecting and validating battery cells, designing BMS hardware and software, and overseeing validation plans at various levels. The role also involves supporting system integration, debugging, and transitioning from development units to production, as well as sustaining fielded systems through root cause analysis and design updates.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, with at least 5 years of experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting energy storage systems. Proficiency with battery test equipment, experience with programming and modeling tools like Matlab and Simulink, and familiarity with electrochemical energy storage materials are essential. Knowledge of modern BMS capabilities, battery characterization methods, and relevant safety standards is also required.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $132,000 to $213,000 USD annually, along with highly competitive equity grants.
