Braze is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This role focuses on developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and products that enhance decision-making across the organization. As part of the Business Intelligence Engineering team, you will collaborate with talented engineers and stakeholders to support data infrastructure, develop reliable metrics, and implement scalable data processes.

In this position, you will partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into scalable data models and sustainable dbt implementations. Responsibilities include owning and evolving the semantic layer alongside curated warehouse models, defining reusable metrics and dimensions, and collaborating with analytics and data engineering teams on the metric lifecycle. Additionally, you will design and maintain tests and monitoring systems to ensure data quality and consistency as the business scales.

The ideal candidate possesses over 5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering, with substantial time spent on cloud data warehouses and SQL-first analytics engineering. Expert-level SQL skills, strong data modeling capabilities, and hands-on experience with dbt and Snowflake (or comparable warehouses) are essential. Familiarity with orchestrated pipelines, such as Airflow, and excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners are also required.

For candidates based in Ontario, the starting salary for this position ranges from CA$112,000 to CA$168,000 per year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between CA$128,000 and CA$193,000 per year, including performance-based compensation. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock units (RSUs), ensuring you have a stake in the company's success.
